Online Media Planner - Media

Barkley is looking for an Online Media Planner with 3 or more years experience in media planning/buying including interactive.  You will develop and implement strategic interactive media plans for assigned accounts. You will contribute to the client's business by proactively identifying, evaluating and recommending new media opportunities. It will be a hands-on position that will be responsible for full media execution of the campaign for all the various online elements.

The position requires an understanding of the interactive space with the working knowledge necessary to integrate digital marketing opportunities into the context of overall media and marketing objectives. Must have strong analytical skills to evaluate plan performance against stated objectives to assess overall effectiveness with an understanding of how to use these results for future planning efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute media buys including creating and distributing insertion orders and resolving billing discrepancies
  • Actively monitor campaign delivery and update campaign stats on a regular basis
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance and negotiate with publishers relating to delivery, optimization and make-goods
  • Work with publisher sales and traffic contacts to compile ad specifications and work with internal Project Manager to ensure that all production details are clearly communicated to creative production teams
  • Work directly with third party rich media providers to negotiate contracts, collect ad specs and resolve any related reporting discrepancies


Requirements:

  • Must be familiar with the tools required to plan, implement and measure campaigns including: @Plan, NetRatings, AdRelevance, MRI, Atlas DMT, Google Analytics, Omniture, etc
  • At least 3 or more years in media planning/buying including interactive experience
  • Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail and time management are also critical to success in this position
  • Specialty knowledge in search engine marketing, affiliate network marketing, comparison shopping engines and ad networks
  • Understanding of new emerging media and experience with them is a plus
