03/19/2007

(KANSAS CITY) – Barkley has been awarded a cause branding assignment by the March of Dimes following a multi-agency pitch. The agency will guide activities that support the March of Dimes’ mission to improve the health and wellbeing of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Services will include brand research and analysis and the development of an integrated communications plan.

“The March of Dimes continues to save babies through research, community service, education and advocacy,” said Doug Staples, SVP, Strategic Marketing & Communications, March of Dimes. “In Barkley, we found a compassionate company that brings a wealth of expertise encompassing communications, marketing and cause branding platforms.”

The March of Dimes’ most recent campaign focuses on prevention of premature births, a problem that has escalated significantly in the past twenty years. The Foundation has a history of success in saving millions of babies from death and disability and bringing people together to solve complex health issues.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to be working with the March of Dimes,” said Mike Swenson, EVP, Barkley. “For several decades, they have successfully addressed the issues that challenged women and babies of each generation. We look forward to partnering with them on the next generation of endeavors.”

“We are proud to be working with such an iconic organization,” said Brian Brooker, CEO & Chief Creative Officer, Barkley. “Our work for the March of Dimes will seek to capture the significance of their cause and inspire a public call-to-action.”
