Barkley Hires New Creative Director

(KANSAS CITY) – Barkley has hired Tom Demetriou as VP, Creative Director. In his new role, he will oversee all creative executions for client Helzberg Diamonds. Barkley was awarded the national Helzberg account in September 2007.

Demetriou formerly served as Creative Director at Interpublic Group of Cos.’ T:M Advertising, where he played an integral role on Nationwide Insurance, American Airlines and Texas Tourism. While there, he wrote Nationwide’s successful 2007 Super Bowl commercial, featuring Kevin Federline, as well as other executions under the “Life Comes at You Fast” tagline. Additionally, Demetriou contributed to the Discovery Channel brand campaign “Let’s all discover,” and the Effie-award-winning American Airlines campaign “We know why you fly.” Most recently, he creative directed the new Texas Tourism campaign breaking this year.
