Barkley Wins Series of Specialty Food Accounts

(KANSAS CITY) – Barkley, one of the largest independent advertising agencies in the U.S., has been awarded several new accounts in the specialty food category. The agency was named AOR for Dawn Foods, Schreiber Cheese, Jolly Time Pop Corn and Gilsa Dairy—all without a review. In the case of Dawn Foods, Schreiber Cheese and Gilsa Dairy, the agency will manage marketing activities for a wide variety of Weight Watchers-licensed products.

The series of new accounts follows Barkley’s win of Riviana Foods’ Success Rice and Minute Rice in August 2007, which was part of a formal review. The subsequent wins were all garnered over the course of four months in November 2007 to February 2008.

Barkley will guide the Dawn Foods consumer brands accounts including Weight Watchers muffins, snack cakes and cookies. Scope of services for Dawn Foods and Gilsa Dairy, which markets Weight Watchers yogurt, includes strategic planning, public relations, media planning and buying, and development of campaigns including TV, print, interactive and radio. Barkley will provide media planning and buying for Schreiber Cheese’s Weight Watchers brand. For Jolly Time Pop Corn, the agency will develop a new advertising campaign for all of the brand’s flagship products.
