During the pandemic, people longed for ways to celebrate together. Virtual events were at an all-time high, providing a perfect venue for a global get-together.
Though stay-at-home orders closed all of its gyms, Planet Fitness needed a way to celebrate the opening of its 2000th club with members from around the world. Still, throwing a party for tons of people in 2020 would be no small feat.
With our virtual party hats on, we started planning the Planet Fitness 2000th Location Celebration, the best party you could attend without leaving your keyboard. Held entirely on Facebook Live, we treated guests to an interactive event complete with caricature artists drawing live portraits of viewers watching at home, balloon sculptors, pinata sessions and a special cake with — you guessed it — 2000 candles. So fun people forgot they weren’t even there.
