Matt Wilson - POB

Matthew Wilson Sr. Producer

“I serve on the (DEI+B) council because I believe that representation matters. It’s important to bring the friction of equality out into the open so we can bring solutions to better everyone’s contribution to this great workshop.”

My name is Matthew Wilson; I’m a senior producer at Barkley. I’ve been here a total of 6 years. I have a fine art background in Digital Filmmaking and New Media from the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI).

I like landscape, cooking, baking, riding horses, and doing house projects in my spare time. I’m a design junkie that loves a good party.

I can’t live without hosting friends, landscaping or traveling. And of course my husband Kenny and my Frenchie Nina.

What is one thing about you that most people at work don’t know?

Most people at work don’t know I could quote all Lord of the Rings movies front-to-back (in the characters' voices) especially Saurman the White.

What's an unpopular opinion you feel strongly about?

Chevron is dead.

Life without social media or life without music?

Couldn’t live without music.

Why Barkley?

Because this is KC’s Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. It’s a place that warrants the big, unusual ideas.

Why do you serve on the DEI+B Advisory Council?

I serve on the council because I believe that representation matters. It’s important to bring the friction of equality out into the open so we can bring solutions to better everyone’s contribution to this great workshop.
