“(People don't know) How intense I get about movies, movie trivia, and movie quotes. We speak in movie quotes at our house. We’re currently watching Dead Poets Society in honor of fall and asking ourselves what our verse is in the powerful play that goes on. ”

I’m a first-generation Polish American. My mom attended a medical university inside a military academy in communist Poland before moving to the States. My father played the accordion and was once pulled over for listening to opera music too loudly. My brother is a meticulous engineer who thinks my job is looking at memes on LinkedIn (that’s only sometimes, Darek!).

Together, they taught me that everything is temporary, that I’m tougher than I think, that details matter, that you should never take anything too seriously, and that everyone has a fascinating story if you’re willing to listen.

What is one thing you can’t live without?

My family, specifically my daughter. She’s 3. She makes all executive decisions at home.

What is one thing about you that most people at work don’t know?

How intense I get about movies, movie trivia, and movie quotes. We speak in movie quotes at our house. We’re currently watching Dead Poets Society in honor of fall and asking ourselves what our verse is in the powerful play that goes on.

What's an unpopular opinion you feel strongly about?

Ketchup doesn’t belong on a hotdog. Ask any Chicagoan (me, I’m the Chicagoan).

Life without social media or life without music?

I need Music. Isn’t it interesting how you can easily listen to music from other cultures / languages and feel your mood change or have an emotional response without actually understanding the translation?

Why Barkley?

It really does come down to the people and the culture they develop. I found Barkley at the right time in my career. Barkley pushes you to create and think of new ideas, better ways to do things, evolve. Our industry is known for people who are hilarious, brilliant and who love shenanigans - you find that here every day.

Why do you serve on the DEI+B Advisory Council?

We live in a society that feels incredibly divided, and divisive. As a parent, that worries me.  I want to be a part of an industry that creates new beauty standards for all, advances actions around gun violence and bullying, and celebrates new voices, art, and ideas.
